Learning a Language in Tandem

The placement of a tandem partnership is a free offer provided by the Language Institute (SLI) for all students, exchange students and employees of the University of Konstanz

Two tandem partners, who would like to learn their respective partner's mother tongue, meet on a regular basis and help each other to improve their language skills. It is completely up to the tandem how often and how long they meet or where these meetings take place. They can meet at university or in the city centre to get coffee or ice cream. Learning a language with a tandem partner can be seen as an additional support to language courses or as an occasion to speak a language with a native speaker in a natural context. It fosters intercultural contact and exchange. The SLI tandem tutors take care of the tandem programme and are happy to answer further questions.
